Q&A With Courtney
Why do you enjoy personal training?
I truly enjoy helping people achieve their fitness goals and I enjoy watching them become healthier and happier in their everyday lives through fitness and nutrition.
Where is your favorite vacation spot?
On my family's boat in cruising around Desolation Sound and the San Juan Islands. To be more specific, Chatterbox Falls in Princess Louisa Inlet. It is a remote inlet surrounded by 1000ft cliffs and a giant waterfall at the end of the inlet. No 20 century technology can be seen or heard and the water gets up to 75 degrees.
What is your favorite movie and why?
Depends on the genre, I have so many.
Sentimental; Fried Green Tomatoes (the heroine finds her inspiration and self motivation to improve her life)
Drama: The Postman (cheesy? Yes, but once again a character is taking a horrible situation and making it better)
Action/adventure: the Lord of Rings trilogy (both action, comedy and overall entertaining and can take me out of my world for its duration)
What is the most important thing to you?
Family, I am very close with my family and it's a bond that I cherish
What is your favorite sport and why?
Sailing, not only is it a great workout, but I get a surge of adrenaline and extreme focus when I am racing that I can't find anywhere else. I have also found no better comrodery than that which is in a well knit sailing team.
What drives to be the best you can and what inspires you?
Self improvement; I am always looking for ways to improve myself and get better. A lot of my inspiration comes from friends and family members
What's #1 on your bucket list?
I actually don't really have a bucket list. There are a ton of things I want to do eventually, but if I don't get to them then there will be no regrets. I take one adventure at a time and enjoy it. Plus I find that I take each path as it comes to me, without a firmly set goal, something bigger and better usually comes along.
What role does physical fitness play in your life?
It allows me to do what I love to do. Be outside and go on adventures. It makes me feel good inside and out.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment?
It's a challenging question to answer since I am still very young and have a long way to go. I feel have done a lot with my life so far; I've traveled abroad, I'm multilingual and I've worked with many different kinds of people and situations. I consider myself well rounded in both my personal and professional life. One accomplishment is my ability to turn my passions into tangible talents. I also feel that the friends and people I surround myself with is another. To sum up, my greatest accomplishment so far is that I truly enjoy life and take every piece I can from it.
