We asked Kelsey ... Why do you enjoy personal training? Her response ...
I personally love training others and myself because having such an active passion and being fit/healthy is super motivating to me. I have learned that maintaining a steady mind and body relationship is key to both happiness and good health.
Having an outlet like fitness and strength training has astonishing mind and overall health benefits. I have struggled with an autoimmune disorder and depression over the years. I have seen a dramatic decrease in my pain and in my depression during exercise and post workouts. I have also seen my clients battle through life obstacles more clearly and focused after improving their health and fitness. Those kind of benefits are the most rewarding to witness as a trainer.
Fun Facts ... Q&A With Kelsey
Favorite vacation spot?
I am originally from Florida, so growing up it was always the West Coast or anywhere I could hike or be outdoors. I love hiking and driving adventures through Canada BUT some of my favorite vacation spots were on cruises in the Caribbean. I guess currently somewhere tropical wouldn’t be so bad!
Anything with Jack Nicholson! I love weird creepy movies-I don't know, I love the Shining! I always wanted to be the joker for Halloween.
What inspires me?
I am inspired by so many things! I grew up as a dancer and I went to school for fashion design so I am very inspired by creativity and art. Music, people, dance choreography, scenery and places i've traveled are what I use for inspiration. What really inspires me are the hard and challenging times that leave me with a lesson or personal growth. Never take a bad moment or event in your life negatively. It may seem like the worst thing at the time, but if you learn and grow from it, it is helping you get closer to becoming stronger and more successful. Seeing individuals grow from their negative experiences and use them as a platform to grow is so great to witness!
Importance of physical fitness in my life?
It motivates me every day and allows me to keep a healthy mind and body relationship. When my body is in pain from my auto immune disorder, or when I am feeling low, getting up and working on my health and fitness is the first thing that comes to mind. When I allow my body to sit still then my mind goes stir crazy. When I keep my body moving, I forget about the pain and it seems to improve post workouts. I'm not as stiff and my mind has more clarity and focus. It is a great outlet for me and something I use as a coping technique everyday!
