All of our trainers are certified and/or have a four year college degree in Exercise Science. Our trainers are experts at designing and implementing fitness programs to meet your specific needs.
Each trainer has a background training in Kinesiology (science of human movement), Exercise Physiology (study of the body’s responses and adaptations to exercise), Biomechanics, and Nutrition & Sports Psychology.
I became interested in personal training while working towards passing the Seattle Firefighter’s exam. After passing the physical exam, I decided that firefighting was not the best career for me, but it did spark my interest in the field of fitness and training. I have been involved with the fitness industry ever since, for over 7 years.
I became an NCSF certified personal trainer in March of 2009 so that I could share my knowledge of sports and strength training with others and help them achieve their fitness goals.
Since my certification, I have worked as a Trainer with the Seattle YMCA and have been able to work with a wide-spectrum of clients.
I am also an amateur boxer and Ultimate Frisbee coach for high school and middle school teams. When I am not training or coaching, I can be found road racing with my cycling team, chasing a Frisbee with my Ultimate team, or enjoying the quiet of a long backpack trip.

I have been working out for a good 10 years now and recently I have acquired my personal training certificate through the ISSA. I also have my CPR/AED certification.

Continuing my education, I was accepted into the University of Washington but had many troubles on choosing a major. Still having the desire to play soccer at a competitive level, I transferred to Central Washington University where I completed a Bachelors degree in Recreational Management.
I went onto the next level of soccer when I became a part of the Seattle Women Sounders. I know what it takes to be at the top level and how to get there starting from the very bottom. I decided to carry on my education by enrolling in Pierce Community College Personal Training Program to gain more assets in becoming a personal trainer. My passion is running, though it did change my life. I was a smoker for 10 years, and after I quit I decided to try running to attempt to fix the damage I had done. I could run ONE block. Then two. And so on. Awhile later I had a friend challenge me to run a half marathon. And I did. Once you start running and pass a point, and get what is called the 'runner's high', you never go back. That's when you are a runner.

Hello! I am a recent Eastern Washington University graduate, where I received a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a focus on physical therapy. My inspiration for personal training has evolved over my years of college.In high school I was very active in sports, but never took exercise seriously. I began my freshman year of college with absolutely no knowledge of exercising or lifting weights. I found myself just going directly to the cardio floor of my college gym because I was afraid of what people would think of me. I began going to the gym daily later on that year, and fell in love with exercising.I even began to lift weights, incorporating resistance training into my daily workouts. Once I began to see a difference in my personality and my body I fell in love with improving my health and fitness level. During my sophomore year, while struggling to find a major, my mom told me to write down the things that I loved doing. Many people have this preconceived notion that Fitness Trainers have been fit all their lives, but in reality, this is not always the case. Many of us have a story (stories) that have brought us to where we are in our life & career.
Most of my life I had been active, including being in the Army National Guard & Army Reserves. Life took its toll when I became a stay at home mom in 2002, and hit hard late spring of 2002 due to health issues, then pregnancy. By my 7th month I topped the scales almost 300lbs and quit looking. After, my son was born, I stayed at 230-226 despite my own efforts. I decided enough was enough. I joined an all-women’s gym and started working with a Trainer. Halfway through, it inspired me and made me realize this was what I wanted to do, help others fighting the same battle.
October of 2004, I was certified with NSCA and started my fitness career. A year later (Nov 2005), life took me on a 10.5 year journey of living overseas in Bangkok, Thailand and off & on in Jakarta Indonesia where I continued to do Training. Unfortunately, life gave me another blow in a motorcycle accident and I thought that what I loved doing and sharing was over. Instead of giving up, with motivation from a wonderful mentor, I re-certified under ACE not only as a Trainer but as a Health Coach. This life event proved to me that we can overcome a lot more than we think, and set another goal for me; to become an Orthopedic Trainer, which I am currently working towards. I am an “open book” about my fitness journey, weight loss and my road to recovery after my accident.
Training is not only my career, but it a passion for me. I love helping my clients on their journey to a better lifestyle. Nothing more can be rewarding than giving a person back self-esteem, better overall health, and joy when they achieve something they did not think was reachable.

Growing up on a military base in Germany, I developed a love for travelling, history and nature. I have always been fascinated by medicine and anatomy but I didn't have any interest in fitness until I was 16.
I was intimidated by the gym so I did Pilates at home for about a year until I built up my confidence. During this time, I desired community and found support on Instagram.
I was so inspired by all the people I found there and loved inspiring other people as well. My experience on Instagram made me realize that I have a passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals and that I wanted to be a bodybuilder!
I started going to the gym and lifting heavy. Within a few months, I gained enough muscle that I was no longer underweight for the first time since my childhood.
One day, an old friend of mine started asking me for fitness advice and something clicked in my head. It was then that I decided I wanted to be a personal trainer. The knowledge I've gained since being certified through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) has helped my personal fitness tremendously and I'm so excited to begin sharing it with others!
I am a 20-year veteran of the United States Army and spent another 15 years in the oil field. Through all that I have always been passionate about fitness. Now that I am no longer in that environment I have embarked on a new career doing what I love to do and that is working with people of all ages to achieve your fitness goals. I received a Personal Fitness Trainer from ISSA and have a Senior Fitness Specialty certificate from them as well.
I have always been active and played baseball in college on a scholarship. When that ended, I found myself with nothing to keep me motivated and I went down a few treacherous roads. I found out that it doesn’t take long to spiral out of control. I have been 50 lbs overweight twice and had health issues associated with my lifestyle. (I can show you the scars.) Instead of continuing down the path I was heading, I turned it around and become as passionate about fitness as I was about trying more hazardous means of self-satisfaction. Even at my “advanced age” I am finding I have plenty of room for improvement and willing to work to see results. Age is not an excuse for me and shouldn’t be for you!
My experience in training has shown me that I need to tailor the training to the individual. I will take the goals you have set for yourself and we’ve talked about and build a program around that. I have worked with beginners who just want to lose weight, lower cholesterol, or get off diabetes medication. I’ve also worked with seniors who are not willing to sit on the sidelines and let life go on around them. I will dedicate my efforts to ensure you have the proper training to improve your fitness level. My name is Tori Ahrens and I am certified through NASM as a personal trainer and fitness nutrition specialist. I have been personal training in many settings for seven years now.
My passion for fitness and nutrition began as a teenager overcoming an eating disorder. Previously solely an obsessive running enthusiast, I got into boxing and weight training/bodybuilding and fell in love. I became addicted to the feeling that hard training gave me—a sense of self confidence and empowerment that I could not find anywhere else. I then began picking up books and articles and researching nutrition and training as much as I could.
My knowledge grew and I sought to share this wonderful feeling of health with others. So, at 18 I took the NASM certification exam and passed on my first try. I started working for a gym and training groups of clients at the park as well as teaching small nutrition “classes” with my friends. A few years later, I began to train in a clinical fitness studio where I worked with a pharmacist and a few doctors doing hormone replacement therapy in conjunction with nutritional therapy and exercise. I have competed in two bodybuilding shows and plan to do more in the future once my school schedule slows down. Currently, I am a Human Nutrition major at the University of Houston.

Throughout high school, I was always into anything that kept me active or in shape.. I took that with me when I went to college. While in college, I joined the powerlifting team and became their president.
After graduation, I became the Lamar Powerlifting coach. I interned for Lamar University’s strength and conditioning program and also for a sports group affiliated with the NBA and D League called Mack Sports Group.
I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and Fitness Management with a minor in Kinesiology and an emphasis on strength and conditioning. I am appreciative of this opportunity I have to help people achieve their fitness goals. My goal as your trainer, is to help you work hard to reach and achieve your own individual goals, and having fun while doing so.

I have been working as a personal trainer for the past 2 years in the Seattle area since graduating from Bastyr University in 2015 with a Bachelors degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science.
My specialties include circuit training, senior fitness, distance running, strength/body weight training, and functional movement (emphasizing correct form and injury rehabilitation).
