Meet Chelsea! | For U Fitness

Picture
Hi! My name is Chelsea Maier. I am from a small town in Texas called Lumberton, but I live in Beaumont, Texas. I currently am looking to relocate to Houston, Texas.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Fitness Management with a minor in Kinesiology and an emphasis on Strength and Conditioning. I am currently pursuing my Masters Degree in Kinesiology.

While at Lamar, I competed in Powerlifting both locally and nationally. I became the president of the club and after graduation, I became their coach. I still compete locally every now and then but typically focus more on my career and training. Before graduation, I interned with the Lamar Strength and Conditioning department and dealt with many sports such as football, softball, basketball, track and field, tennis, and volleyball. I also interned for a sports group company affiliated with the NBA and D League known as Mack Sports Group where I was their strength and conditioning coach and coordinator. I also helped with their training camps and combines.

I consider myself an extreme fitness enthusiast. I have a passion for weight lifting and sports. My goal as a trainer and a sports performance coach, is to help my clients work hard to meet their sports and/or fitness goals, and have fun while doing so.

Why do you enjoy training (personal and/or performance)?

I enjoy personal training and sports performance training mainly because of the adventure it takes me on. I love to see change and results! And of course, making my clients happy.

The most important thing to me, would be my 3 kids. I have two girls, and one boy.

What is your favorite sport and why?

My favorite sport would have to be powerlifting (of course) and Tennis. I played both sports in high school and college.

What drives you to be the best at what you do?

My kids are my main motivation. They are the reason why I do what I do each and every day.

Physical Fitness is super important to me. It is like they always say, "Your Health is Your Wealth", and I definitely stand by that statement. I want to live to see past 100!
