Hello, I am Lauren! I am an energetic and health obsessed personal trainer! I love to make every workout different and challenging so that by the end you are amazed at what you have accomplished!  I not only focus on the fitness aspect of health with my clients, but can definitely lend a hand in nutrition as well as overall lifestyle!

Q & A With Lauren

Why do you enjoy training others?

From my early teen years I have always known that my purpose was to help others.  I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a goal of becoming a therapist.  During my years in college and after graduating my love for fitness and nutrition really took off! I was able to lose over 30 pounds by changing my diet and adding variation in my exercise routine.  I felt like I needed to spread my knowledge about becoming healthy and supply others with the tools that I now have.  It is truly the most amazing thing to watch someone change who they are, for the better, and accomplish goals that they never thought possible because I was able to get them to that next step. That alone makes every hardship along the way worth it!

What is the importance of physical fitness in your life?

In Middle School and High School I suffered from depression.  Prior to going to college I had it under control, however with all of the change involved in moving away from my family and friends to a new place I lost control pretty quick.  Instead of gaining the freshman 15 I gained the freshman 30! I finally couldn't take it anymore and started hitting the gym for the first time ever.  Growing up I had always played sports and had never dealt with being out of shape.  Once I started working out regularly it felt like everything else started lining up for me.  Since I was taking care of my physical health it made me want to eat better.  Since I was eating better I felt better.  Since I was feeling better I was happier.  Working out also introduced me to some of my greatest friends.  We all had the same interests in keeping ourselves healthy so we kept each other accountable.  Fitness brought me out of the dark hole I was in.  Everyday I look forward to my workout as a chance to let out steam for whatever bad happened that day or to up my self esteem if I am having bad thoughts about myself. It definitely changed my life and now I can't imagine not having it!

What drives you to be the best at what you do?

People. Whether it is my family, close friends, or clients I feed off of everyone's energy. I love to surround myself with others that have positive attitudes and are trying to be the best version of themselves.  When I am in the presence of people like this I work harder and achieve goals that I would never be able to do on my own.  In turn, when I am around someone that has a negative attitude or is just down in the dumps I feel that it is my job to do what I can to make them smile or feel better about themselves.  I have been down like that feeling negative about myself and the world and was able to change it.  I now know what it feels like to have a positive outlook on life and just to feel great a majority of the time and I want to share it!

What is your favorite sport and why?

Favorite sport to play is Golf! I grew up playing this sport and have really started to appreciate it more now that I am older.  I love being outdoors and golf courses are so beautiful and peaceful!  Playing golf has also taught me such great patience! You have to take your time with each hit and really think about all the scenarios that could happen if you do something wrong.  You also can't just hit the ball as hard as you can every time you have to use the proper amount of force at the right angle!

Favorite sport to watch is a tie between basketball and football! I love the fast pace of basketball and the amazing things that happen in college and NBA! With football I enjoy watching but I also enjoy the social aspect of it! Every Sunday you get to hang with friends, eat great food, and cheer for the Broncos of course :)
