Hello, my name is Nakita Zano.  I am a native of Houston, Texas however, I am currently located in Austin, Texas. I have a background in Athletic Training, which is a focus on the care and prevention of athletic injuries, as well as strength and conditioning. I developed a passion for health and fitness through my own personal experience as a student athlete for several years.  From there, I knew my passion for sport and endurance activities combined with my educational history would allow me to thrive in a one on one environment with clients and/or teams.

My experience and knowledge in specific areas such as gait mechanics, weight lifting, Olympic lifting, speed and agility progression have all allowed me to reach a variety of individuals in achieving their personal aspirations. I truly enjoy sharing my gift with others wanting to live the healthiest way possible.

Q & A With Nakita

Why do you enjoy training (personal and/or performance)?

I enjoy training because it is not only a physical performance but a mental challenge. Being able to adjust into a healthy lifestyle is a lot easier said than done, point granted. But, the feeling of accomplishment you have when you are consistent in training and healthy habits is worth it.

Favorite vacation spot?
I’m still exploring my options. ;)

Favorite movie and why?
Princess and the Frog - I am a child at heart and I like to think of myself as royalty.

Most important thing to you?
Family

Favorite sport and why?
My favorite sport is Track. There is just something about being on the track with the wind blowing through your hair and the sigh of relief when you cross the finish line that makes you want to go back to the drawing board and do it all over again. I never really had that with any other sport but when I participated in track.

What drives you to be the best at what you do?

I do what I do because I enjoy the breakthrough my clients get when they can finally do something they’ve been restricted from doing - whether it be through an injury or not being physically able to do. The smile and thank you’s that no one sees, that’s what drives me to be the best at what I do.

What inspires you?
My mother inspires me to be a better woman each and every day: professionally, as a friend, and of myself. She has been such a big motivator in my life and has been the prime example of unconditional love and support.

If you could do anything, bucket list number one, what would that be?
Travel the world for a year straight with family and friends. I feel as though I often get caught up with school and work that I would love the opportunity to see what is out there in the world.

Importance of physical fitness in your life?
Physical fitness plays a huge role in my sanity. I have been able to really know my limits as I’ve gotten older and know when I am at the point of breaking down from putting too much on my plate. With that being said, exercise has been my way of clearing my mind and taking some time out for myself. I cope with stress and anxiety with physical fitness, whether it be a jog on the trail or heavy lifting in the gym.

Greatest accomplishment?
