I have worked in sales and marketing for years, but my real passion lies in the health field.

If at first your plan does not succeed, try again!  You may just need to make little tweaks to make getting back on track easier than ever!
 
Have you heard or even said any of the statements below?  Most people have thought or uttered at least one of them, if not all.  Check out some ideas on how you can combat the negative statements that are common to so many.
 
“I’m starving all the time.”
 
Are you eating enough?  Sounds counter to the point of wanting to lose weight but not eating enough can actually cause your diet to fail before it even gets off the ground.  Sure, know your goal calorie deficit if you are trying to lose weight, or your weight maintenance level, but don’t attempt to starve the weight off.  This not a tactic that has great success in the long run and can actually cause the exact opposite of what you want to happen.

Say Hello To Amanda! | For U Fitness

Hi there! My name is Amanda and I am an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer with a Bachelor’s in Exercise and Sports Science. I have a background in team sports, running, weight lifting and high intensity interval training (HIIT).

My love of sports came from my dad who would take me out on our weekend’s together to play baseball, basketball, golf and even ride horses. As a child I was incredibly shy, but I loved the idea of being on a team and running around with my friends. I tried swimming at age 7, but was afraid to dive so my mom put me in Jazz and Tap classes. I did that for two years, until I realized my true passion was sports.

As soon as I started middle school I tried out for and played all the sports we had to offer; volleyball, basketball and soccer. Once I got to High School I decided to try some new things. I played softball, golf and ran cross country. In college, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to major in and it was my friends who helped me figure out that I would do really well in something that combined my passion for athletics and helping people. I began working towards my degree in kinesiology and found out how passionate I am about the human body and the way that it moves. Also, I had the opportunity to help a lot of my friends reach their fitness goals and change the way they viewed exercise.

Exercise is not just a way to change the way you look, but the way you feel both mentally and physically. Whether you are just starting your fitness journey or are looking to learn something new, I know that together we can get you to your goals. I look forward to getting to know you and being on this journey with you!

Meet Chelsea! | For U Fitness

Hi! My name is Chelsea Maier. I am from a small town in Texas called Lumberton, but I live in Beaumont, Texas. I currently am looking to relocate to Houston, Texas.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Fitness Management with a minor in Kinesiology and an emphasis on Strength and Conditioning. I am currently pursuing my Masters Degree in Kinesiology.

While at Lamar, I competed in Powerlifting both locally and nationally. I became the president of the club and after graduation, I became their coach. I still compete locally every now and then but typically focus more on my career and training. Before graduation, I interned with the Lamar Strength and Conditioning department and dealt with many sports such as football, softball, basketball, track and field, tennis, and volleyball. I also interned for a sports group company affiliated with the NBA and D League known as Mack Sports Group where I was their strength and conditioning coach and coordinator. I also helped with their training camps and combines.

I consider myself an extreme fitness enthusiast. I have a passion for weight lifting and sports. My goal as a trainer and a sports performance coach, is to help my clients work hard to meet their sports and/or fitness goals, and have fun while doing so.
